This was an incredible experience! The small group size of 6 people made it feel like a private charter. The crew was incredible and gave us so much information about the sights we were seeing and the best places to visit/eat on the island. Would highly recommend doing this while in Puerto Rico!

Sail PR was a dream to work with! My family was so looking forward to the trip when I realized that I chose the wrong month (I chose MAR instead of MAY!!). I contacted them in May to let them know that I messed up and they were so accommodating and responsive. They texted me back right away, we had a phone call, and they worked with me to make this sailing excursion happen, even though I had messed up. This group is wonderful! The excursion itself was lovely and we had a great time. Seriously - you can't go wrong with Sail PR. Such great customer service and a super fun experience!

We chose this day time sail because we had a previous sunset sail scheduled that was cancelled by a different company. These two young men were fantastic…always made sure we were okay & gave us a tour of Old San Juan & they were very safe too…their sunset one was sold out so we chose this one. They were very nice…the weather was perfect & the drinks were great & you can also bring your own lunch. The ocean breeze & scenery took our breath away. It was just my husband & I and another couple…we practically had the entire sail boat to ourselves! When we return we will only choose this sail boat company again. If you’re considering this one then BOOK IT!

It was a beautiful cruise. There was some bad weather off to the north of us, but our captain was able to get us to a beautiful location with a perfect view, a beautiful sunset to one side and a rain storm to the other. The crew on board was very friendly and the drinks were plentiful. It was a small intimate group as well, just 2 other couples. You may be able to get the same sunset on land, but there is just something special to seeing it on a sailboat as the ocean rocks you.

I had an amazing time sailing! The captain and sail mate were not only fun but also incredibly knowledgeable about the island, which made the trip even more enjoyable and informative. One thing I really appreciated was that we got the full duration of our allotted time on the water, no cutting corners like I saw mentioned in reviews for other companies. It was a smooth, relaxing, and well-managed experience from start to finish. I’d absolutely recommend this to friends and family. Overall, a solid 10/10!

The experience was overall a 10/10. We were able to see beautiful views of the island, the staff provided us with history, information, and recommendations on the island. They were kind, professional, knowledgeable and provided each of us with great accommodations. The directions to find the boat were clear and easy to understand. The check-in process was very simple.

I'm glad we were able to do this experience. Due to the rain, I wasn't sure we were going to be able to. It was still warm out, not as sunny, so technically the sunset was seen. Francisco and Rafael were great hosts. It is just always nice to disconnect from the land.

Nice relaxing trip, learning about the history of Old San Juan, seeing beautiful views you can't get from land! We got to see one of the large cruise ships going by as it was leaving port, relaxed in a beautiful breeze, and watched Rafe and Francisco (I'm sorry if I got that wrong!) expertly moving the ship through the water, adjusting the sails to catch the wind just right. Oh, and the drinks were good too! Got a great recommendation for some food close by, I need to go back and do this again!

A nice small group boat tour with beautiful views. Crew was very accommodating and well educated in the area/history of San Juan Bay Area. Francisco was the man and really mademy gf and I comfortable. Almost had our tour cancelled due to rain, but the crew was very on top of communication by text on whether we’d have the tour or not so that was greatly appreciated.

Although on a nine-day cruise ship vacation, I always seek the experience of actually being on the water. I search for a nice day sail and found this one. The instructions to get to the marina and the boat were excellent so we got there on time. Captain and First mate greeted us warmly and gave us thorough instructions. There were a total of six of us so it was like having our own sailing trip. We motored out a bit and then set sail around the bay. Good winds made for real but gentle sailing and we relaxed on the front of the boat. We enjoyed beer and mimosas and couldn't have had a better time. From the cruise ship it was only a $5 to $10 Uber. If. you're a little adventurous and want to ge3t the real feel of sailing, this is a great trip.

My husband and I went on this sail while in town for the evening during a cruise. We both throughly enjoyed the sail. There were joined by two other couples who were on vacation. We passed a couple of other sail boats who were also taking in the sunset but they looked cramped with guests. Our catamaran had so much more space. This was my first time on a catamaran and it won’t be the last. The Captain and first mate were both very nice as well.

This was our favorite experience during our trip to Puerto Rico! We booked it for our last evening and it was a perfect way to wrap up the trip, just very relaxing and beautiful! We even saw dolphins, which we didn’t expect! The captain and mate were super professional and knowledgeable, and provided great service. They aren’t stingy with the drinks (I assume as long as you can handle your liquor), and explained all the sights during the sail, including the owners of some of the notable yachts currently docked! The net at the front of the boat was great to sit on, but be aware that you run the risk of catching an errant splash and having a wet behind, which I learned the hard way!

Our family of six enjoyed the whole boat. Capt. Francisco and Mate Pedro were warm and welcoming. The kids thought Pedro’s attentiveness was special. Sailed out to the fort and around, then watched the sunset. A+ experience.

We went to PR for our 40th anniversary and were looking for a sunset cruise. This one sounded like it would suit us and we were right! Captain Francisco and Mate Pedro were awesome. They gave us history as we toured round, provided us with beverages and were very adept at handling this very nice catamaran. With only 6 passengers it was a nice intimate and relaxing sunset cruise for our final evening in PR. Would recommend this cruise highly! Thx Captain!!

Our trip Advisor chose this cruise because Captain Fransisco and his first mate Pedro provided an intimate sail that originally included only 8 passengers. Six passengers arrived allowing us to all have our own section of the boat. The directions to the boat were easy to follow and getting to the pier was seamless, the boat was clean, the drinks were plentiful. Fransisco and Pedro spared no expense on the amount of information and knowledge shared about their beautiful island. They were so accommodating from taking pictures and ensuring our experience was memorable! Pedro pointed out fascinating sights that taught us how his island came to be. We highly recommend this cruise! He was a wealth of information as well as an awesome photographer while captain Fransisco's expert sailing skills providing a smooth sail right into the sunset! Yes, all of Sail PR's catamarans are equipped with onboard restrooms for your convenience. To ensure you have a confirmed reservation and a smooth experience, we strongly recommend booking and paying for your Sail PR tour through our website in advance.
Are Sail PR tours suitable for individuals with vertigo?
Individuals with severe vertigo might find a Sail PR tour challenging due to the inherent motion of being on a boat, even on calm waters. While our catamarans provide a stable ride, the feeling of movement and looking out at the horizon can sometimes trigger vertigo symptoms. We recommend consulting with your doctor beforehand. If you decide to join, staying in the most stable part of the boat, usually midship, and focusing on the horizon might help alleviate symptoms. Your comfort and safety are important to Sail PR.
What is the policy for lost and found items on Sail PR tours?
If you believe you've lost an item during your Sail PR tour, please contact us as soon as possible with a detailed description of the item and the tour details (date, time). This typically includes a driver's license, passport, or state ID, confirming you are 18 years or older (Puerto Rico's legal drinking age). While not always mandatory for boarding, having identification ready simplifies the process, especially for age verification. Always bring a valid ID for your Sail PR experience.

Many cruise ship passengers enjoy Sail PR tours as an excursion due to our convenient location near the San Juan port. While Sail PR doesn't directly affiliate as a 'cruise ship excursion' for specific lines, you can certainly book our public tours independently. The Puerto Rican sun can be intense, even on cloudy days, and sun protection is crucial for a comfortable experience on the water. We advise applying a broad-spectrum, reef-safe sunscreen before boarding and reapplying as needed during your Sail PR tour. Sunglasses and a hat are also highly recommended to protect against sun exposure. Be prepared to soak up the sun safely!
Can I bring an ice chest or cooler on a Sail PR tour?
Bringing your own ice chest or cooler on a Sail PR public tour is generally not permitted. We provide complimentary beverages, and space on the catamaran, especially for public tours, is optimized for passenger comfort rather than personal storage. For private charters, exceptions might be made, but this would need to be discussed and approved by Sail PR in advance due to space and weight considerations. Please inquire directly if you are planning a private event with extensive beverage or food needs.
What happens if there is light rain during a Sail PR tour?
If there is light rain or an intermittent shower during a Sail PR tour, the tour will generally proceed as scheduled. Our catamarans often have covered or shaded areas where guests can seek shelter from light precipitation. Light rain typically doesn't impact visibility significantly.
